Canyon Springs Artist Places at YAM

Recently, art students from teacher Elvira Zink’s classes at Canyon Springs High School participated in the Youth Art Month (YAM) competition at the Vanguard Art Gallery. YAM is a statewide art competition that is held by the California Art Education Association in conjunction with the National Art Education Association. A few took home regional honors in the Inland Empire.
In Art 2D category, Ninika Miller (pictured at right) earned 3rd place and Omariah Johnson took honorable mention.
In Ceramics, Aranza Orozco earned Honorable Mention.
Ninika Miller's artwork advanced to compete against Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego regions. Her work is currently on display at the Riverside Art Museum. Awards ceremony will be March 9 at 11:15 a.m.
